This is line of French Besson trumpets that were re-created by B-H/Buffet and Zig Kanstul. The original French Besson was hand-made in Paris. The re-created French Besson is a culmination of much testing and examination of many, many original French Besson trumpets. Because the tools used by the original craftsmen in Paris were worn out, new tools were created and modern methods used to create an outstanding trumpet of the highest and consistent quality. So far as I could tell, the first Kanstul Meha Besson came off the line in 1982.

The owner was a friend and band-mate of mine who decided to sell this horn and stick with just playing Bb trumpet along with some Bb valve trombone. Sadly, Vince passed away in December, 2017.

The pictures are mine. He bought this horn at Manny’s in New York City back in the 1980’s. This is an “as is” sale. (Note: Mouthpiece not included)
