*I purchased this horn new in 2009. This is the Kanstul version without interchangeable lead pipes. When I worked through the pitches with a tuner, I found the second valve slide to be about 20 cents flat. Many thanks and kudos to Zig Kanstul for doing some calculations for us so that Corky could shorten the second valve slide and get it up to pitch. The triggers on the first and third valve slides compensate for the raise in pitch with the second valve.
It comes with the “short slide” as well. As I test-played the horn, I happily found that the short slide felt as open (as in “not stuffy”) as the regular slide.
As with all the horns listed, we have additional pictures. Please contact me.
